Unai Emery’s side have one foot in the final after a 3-1 win over Valencia in the the first leg of the semi-final at the Emirates on Thursday.
Two goals from Alexandre Lacazette and one from Aubameyang gave the north London side a comeback win over Marcelino GarcÃa Toral’s side. Aubameyang’s goal was the Gunners’ third goal of the game.
Speaking to BT Sport after the game, he said: “Yeah, I think that goal will hopefully be important. We started the game not so good, but we had a good reaction after that and I think today we played very well to win this game.
“We started the game a bit nervous because we lost the last three games, and that’s normal because we’re human, but after that, we had a good reaction.
“I think it’s our target to reach the final and win this trophy because we know it’s an opportunity to qualify for next year’s Champions League. Last year we stopped at the semi-finals and I think now we have learnt a lot from last year’s errors and hopefully this year we will not do the same.”
Aubameyang has been Arsenals’s best striker this season having scored 25 goals across all competitions. He has also provided 8 assists.
Lacazette is another forward who has been brilliant for the Gunners this term. He has scored 18 goals and provided 12 assists this season.
Aubameyang and Lacazette will be key for the Gunners as they look to win the Europa League and finish in the top-four of the Premier League.
The partenrship between the duo has been fantastic this season, and it reflected against Valencia on Thursday with Aubameyang providing the assist for Lacazette’s equaliser
