The identities of the dead corps members had also been released by the National Youth Service Corps in Katsina.
They are: Simon Edadakpoye from Delta State; Amarikwa Innocent from Imo State and Ndem Chinenye from Ebonyi State.
The NYSC coordinator in Katsina, Alhaji Ahidjo Yahaya, made the disclosure on Friday when the Catholic Bishop of Sokoto Diocese, Bishop Mathew Kukah, paid a condolence visit to the state NYSC authorities at the permanent orientation camp along Mani Road, Katsina.
Kukah was in company with the Katsina Catholic Parish Priest, Reverend Father Joseph Dube. The bishop said he was in Katsina to condole with the state coordinator and the state NYSC family over what he described as “the unfortunate demise of the three corps members.”
The corps members until their death were members of the National Association of Catholic Corps, Katsina branch. They and their colleagues were going for a church programme in Funtua when the accident occurred.
The bishop, who also visited other recuperating corps members in their different hospitals in katsina, prayed that “Almighty God give the parents of the deceased the fortitude to bear the loss.”
