Known as Zlatan Ibile on the stage, Omoniyi Raphael is one of those artistes ruling the airwaves right now. Born and raised in Lagos, the 24-year-old Ekiti State indigene launched his music career at 17. At 19, he won the Airtel’s One Mic Campus Tour competition in Abeokuta, Ogun State.

The Moshood Abiola Polytechnic graduate first got recognition in the music scene in 2017 when he released a single titled, ‘My body,’ where he featured Olamide Adedeji (aka Olamide). The song went viral after a video of David Adeleke (aka Davido) dancing to the song surfaced on the internet.

Zlatan became more popular in 2018 when he featured in ‘Able God’, a hit song by Emmanuel Oladipo (aka Chinko Ekun), which also featured Lil Kesh.

After the hit song, Zlatan dropped a new song titled, ‘Zanku,’ which was accompanied by a new dance routine of the same name. The rapper, songwriter and dancer has since dropped other hit songs and featured in songs alongside star artistes such as Davido and Damini Ogulu (aka Burna Boy).

Following in the footsteps of most entertainers, Zlatan recently bought a white Bentley Bentayga and announced via his verified Instagram page, @zlatan_ibile.

The Bentayga, first produced in 2018, is described as one of the fastest, most powerful and luxurious SUVs in the world. Its price ranges between $165,000 (N51m) and $267,700 (N82m), depending on specifications.

Overview

Under the Bentayga’s bonnet sits a new version of Bentley’s 6.0-litre W12, with twin-scroll turbos plus high- and low-pressure direct fuel injection. An official CO2 of 296g/km and 21.6mpg average economy likely won’t be of much concern to potential Bentayga owners. A stated 600bhp and 663lb ft of torque certainly will. Such power will haul the 2.4 tonne Bentayga from 0 to 60mph in four seconds flat, and on to a vmax of 187mph.

Driving

The Bentayga has precisely as much speed, composure, refinement and grip as you’d expect from a very expensive SUV. It is devastatingly fast: maximum torque is available from just 1,350rpm.

Combined with the high vantage point, such point-and-squirt pace makes it a mighty overtaking weapon on all roads, unless they’re narrow.

Things get yet more impressive when you push the Bentayga hard through a series of fast corners. With the air suspension dialled into ‘Sport’ mode, the Bentley does an extraordinary job of resisting body-roll, staying flat and doing a very good impression of a much lighter car thanks to a new 48-volt active anti-roll system. It can also manage a surprising amount off-road, but that appears to be by-the-by in reality.

On the inside

According to Bentley, it takes 130 hours for 53 artisans to handcraft each Bentayga and the quality of the workmanship is unsurpassed. If you want to spend even more cash, you can spec your Bentayga with its own glitzy picnic set or even a Breitling Tourbillon dash clock that spins at the push of a button.

The Bentayga’s infotainment system – with an eight-inch main screen and 60gb hard drive – finally puts Bentley within swinging distance of the poshest offerings from Mercedes and BMW. Top it off with some smart self-driving tech – lane-assist and adaptive cruise control – and the Bentayga proves a relaxing place to spend time, a car that simply vacuums up the miles without causing so much as a furrow in the brow of its driver.
