Police First Information Report (FIR) said that one Abubakar Umaru of Budo-Aiki, Fulani camp, via Gwanara, reported the matter at the community police post before it was transferred to the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, Ilorin, for investigation.
According to the FIR, Umaru, who is the father of the two (Iliasu and Isah), had gone to their camp but found no one around except the cattle.
When he searched the premises of the camp, the FIR revealed that Umaru found the corpse of his son, Isah with reported machete lacerations visible on his neck while his brother was nowhere to be found.
The FIR further said that investigation revealed that Iliasu allegedly killed his brother and fled to Oyo State.
After he was arrested, the FIR said that the accused person confessed to the police that he macheted his brother, Isah on his neck because he was having a sexual affair with his wife.
The FIR further revealed that the deceased had once confessed to Iliasu, that he was the father of the three-year-old baby which his wife was nursing.
The accused person after confessing to the crime said he had warned the deceased several times to desist from the act but he (Isah) failed to listen, and as such, he (Iliasu) attacked him, the FIR further revealed.
The prosecuting Police Officer, Inspector Sanni Abdullah, prayed the court to remand the accused person in prison custody saying the offences against him was not bailable.
He submitted further that the offences cannot be tried at the magistrate court hence the need to remand Iliasu till the matter would be transferred to the appropriate court for hearing.
The prosecutor added that the defendant may commit a similar offence if admitted to bail, saying he should rather be kept in the correctional centre pending the determination of the case.
The Magistrate, Mrs Jumoke Bamigboye, conceded to the prayers of the prosecutor and ordered the remand of the accused person while the matter was adjourned till 26th November, 2019 for mention.
