Kano experienced a big celebration recently when the son of the Emir of Kibiya, Alhaji Umar Usman, married the daughter of Emir of Kano, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero.
The marriage fatiha was held at the Kano Emir’s palace with State Governor, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, presiding after payment of N200,000 as dowry.
The Chief Imam of Kano, Professor Sani Zahraddeen, blessed the couple with prayers and advice.
“Marriage is a very important institution in society. Allah has directed every Muslim adult who is gainfully employed or has a means of livelihood to marry a woman he loves and the two, start up their home in love and harmony,” he said.
Princess Rukayyah rocked an exotic cream outfit with gold embroidery for her henna party (pre-wedding event). She was joined by family and friends as she celebrated her special moment.
Dignitaries spotted at the wedding of Rukayyah and Usman included former Vice President Namadi Sambo; Minister of State for Works and Housing, Umar El-Yakubu; Zamfara State Governor, Bello Matawalle former governor of Sokoto State, Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko; and a host of others.
