Protesters from the Ilaje community area of Ondo state on Tuesday stormed the Ondo Assembly complex to express their grievances over what they described as injustice against the deputy governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa by the state house of assembly.
The protesters who carried placards with different inscriptions, marched to the assembly complex as armed security operatives manned the entrance of the complex to guard against breakdown of law and order.
Addressing newsmen on behalf of the protesters, Ola Judah said, “This gathering is the gathering of Sons and daughters of Ilaje land, not only Ilaje we have other sympathizers from Akure, Ese-Odo, Idanre Axis that come together to protest against injustice, against the battle that is going to erupt I'm Ondo State, the peace of Ondo State is being threatened by the action of Ondo State house of assembly.
“Ilaje have been without light for the past dacades, the house of assembly can not pass a bill to quicken the authorities to make sure there's light in Ilaje land, the whole of Ilaje land is about to be taken away, every part of Ilaje and is gone due to the oil exploitation in our area and yet Ondo assembly cannot pass bill that would enhance the development in the community.
“Ilaje land and ese Odo is the only land that produces oil that make Ondo State to be part of Niger Delta oil community, today nothing is coming back to us.
“For the past decades an Ilaje man has never been a deputy governor for the first Time, we have a deputy governor, and yet power that be has vow that he would not finish his tenure.
“Aketi/Lucky mandate was given to both of them, and if Aketi is still the governor of Ondo State, our own mandate as the deputy governor still remain.
“Any of the members of the house of assembly from Ilaje land that sign any motives of impeachment against Lucky Ayiedatiwa, against Ilaje mandate, he or she is on his own, Ilaje people have not sent him to to sign anything, they haven't tell us that Lucky has done anything bad.
“The Cabals has come together that Lucky beats his wife, they also said he wee in the toilet and now they said it is gross misconduct, they would later say he wants Aketi to die, did Agboola also want Aketi to die, Now it is lucky that want Aketi to die.
“Anybody shroud not tamper with the mandate of Ilaje, if you think you chase lucky, don't worry, we would pay you back next year in the same coin.
“All these years, we Don't know how Osophadec money is being spent, the Ondo State house of assembly didn't push for it, for years we haven't been given the money and the money is being signed and yet they said lucky must go.
“Why are you happy to take the mandate of Ilaje, is it because of next year election, but weather you like it we would have our mandate.”
