In a grand culmination of campaign efforts, Governor Douye Diri rounded off his pre-election activities on Tuesday, November 6th, with a resounding retreat attended by a multitude of supporters. With just days remaining until the Bayelsa State Governorship election on Saturday, November 11, 2023, the Grassroot Movement for the Re-Election of Governor Douye Diri and his Deputy, Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo, made a impactful statement in Yenagoa, the state capital.
The Frontline NGO orchestrated a benevolent mission, distributing souvenirs, food items, and other materials to the less privileged and ardent supporters who joined in solidarity for Governor Diri's second-term reelection bid. The central event in Yenagoa garnered participation from key political figures and stakeholders, setting the stage for a promising electoral outcome.
With a robust numerical strength across the state, the Grassroot Movement extended its reach to various creeks, wards, and units spanning the three Senatorial Districts. The enthusiastic reception from the people highlighted their anticipation for Governor Diri's continued pursuit of a laudable prosperity agenda.
During a unique political gathering, Hon. Abel Ebifemowei, Bayelsa Central Coordinator; Hon. Alex Jenakumo, Bayelsa West Coordinator; and Hon. Charity Kens Godwin, Deputy Coordinator, lauded Governor Diri's achievements in bringing prosperity to the people. The mammoth crowd echoed a singular sentiment – the governor deserves a second term, evident in his robust first-term scorecard.
Deputy Coordinators Hon. George Turner (Bayelsa East) and Chief Natus Zebakame (Bayelsa Central), among others, emphasized that the DIRI/LAW Re-Election Movement was a foundation laid by Concerned Bayelsans for Good Governance. This movement, fueled by individuals of good conscience, has dedicated personal resources to the growth and development of Bayelsa State to the glory of God.
