It's like a fantasy dream, and no one else is more surprised than 'Bobo', Stanley himself. By October 2023 nothing was happening; and then, a sudden unfolding of what seems like such dream he has had severally, but now coming to reality.
By January 2024, Stanley Nwabali was so excited being invited to the Nigeria national team camp preparing for Africa cup of nations. Few months before, Nigeria's head coach Jose Peseiro visited him at Chippa United South Africa and assured him of a call up.
Nigeria were in search of a more reliable goalkeeper with the dwindling performance of Francis Uzorho, and series of other goalkeepers who didn't just make the mark, Maduka Okoye, John Noble and the retirement of Daniel Akpeyi.
The spotlight waves to Nwabali and there was no time to learn the ropes. Just a friend game against Guinea and Nwabali was throw into the tick of Afcon battle. His confidence, reflexes and composure on his first competitive debut for the Super Eagles, stunned everyone, including the coach. It was a risk that paid off!
