The District Governor, District 404-A4, Nigeria, Lion (Prince) Monday Osadebamwen Okoro, PMJF, NLCF has commended the 38th President of Akure-Owena Lions Club for bringing into Lionism a vigour and dedication that will ensure that the District realises its targets on club formation and new membership with ease.
Addressing guests and lions members at the Public Presentation of Lion ( Otunba) Akinola Falusi, NLCF, as the 38th President of Akure-Owena Lions Club, the District Governor noted with satisfaction the determination of the new President and his members to contribute significantly to the actualisation of Lions Club global projection of attaining 1.5 members and surpassing it within the 2024/25 Lions Year.
"I'm happy you have accepted Mission 1.5 Challenge in Akure-Owena Lions Club. With the birth of two potential Lions Clubs in two virgin areas in Ondo State today, our target to the global projection will soon be met.
"I will be coming back very soon to perform the Charter Presentation of the two Clubs.
"I have gotten the assurances of the Chairman of the District Elders Council, PCC Olumuyiwa Jegede PMJF, NLCF his spouse who is the Immediate Past District Governor, Dr Kofoworola Jegede, PMJF, NLCF, PDG Adekunle Adedipe, PMJF, NLCF and Lion Olatunji Jubreel, MJF, NLCF", he said.
Lion Prince Monday Osadebamwen Okoro, PMJF, NLCF stated that all hands must be on deck towards the realisation of the District target.
"Our target in the District towards the realisation of Mission 1.5 Challenge is enormous, you can ask for details from your member, Lion Bode Akinwumi who is the District Global Extension Team Coordinator.
"Let us therefore work together to make a community liveable for all", the District Governor appealed.
Lion leaders at the ceremony described the two designated clubs; IKARE LIONS CLUB and IKALE LIONS CLUB, as a major boast to Lions Club Global Campaign tagged 1.5Million Challenge.
Prospective members and emerging leaders of the two clubs who pledged their commitments to the tenets of Lionism were decorated by the District Governor.
