Top leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta State, led by the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Olorogun Festus Keyamo SAN, met with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR at the Presidential Villa on Thursday to discuss strengthening internal democracy and fostering unity within the party in Delta State.
Festus Keyamo was joined by Senator Ned Nwoko (Delta North), Senator Ede Dafinone (Delta Central), Senator Joel Onowakpo-Thomas (Delta South), Rt. Hon. Francis Ejiroghene Waive (Ughelli North, Ughelli South, and Udu Federal Constituency), Hon. Stella Okotete (Executive Director of NEXIM Bank and former National Woman Leader), and Delta APC Chairman, Elder Omeni Sobotie.
Sources within the Presidential Villa revealed that the meeting focused on briefing President Tinubu on the party’s current affairs in Delta State and seeking his guidance on strategies to fortify the party’s internal structure. The leaders emphasized the need for unity and collaboration to position the APC for success, particularly with the next electoral cycle approaching.
Leading the delegation, Keyamo underscored the importance of internal democracy and transparency in decision-making. He stated that fostering an inclusive political environment would build trust among party members and enhance the party’s credibility. He also presented strategies aimed at reconciling aggrieved members and ensuring cohesion within the party.
Senator Ned Nwoko and Senator Ede Dafinone echoed Keyamo’s sentiments, emphasizing that a stable and united party structure is crucial for strengthening the APC’s influence in Delta State. They called for collective efforts in addressing internal challenges and implementing reforms that would solidify the party’s standing.
In response, President Tinubu reaffirmed his commitment to supporting the Delta APC, stressing that unity within the party is paramount to achieving electoral success.
