Comptroller Onyeka Hosts Ramadan Dinner, Promotes Unity at Tincan Island Port

LAGOS – In a bid to foster unity and harmonious coexistence among stakeholders at the Tincan Island Port Command, the Customs Area Controller, Comptroller Frank Onyeka, hosted a special Ramadan dinner at the Command's headquarters on Wednesday.

Addressing attendees, Comptroller Onyeka emphasized that Ramadan is a period of reflection, self-discipline, and compassion. He noted that the event was not just about sharing a meal but about strengthening bonds and encouraging dialogue among diverse groups.


"This dinner is a gesture of solidarity with our Muslim brothers and sisters during this sacred month. It provides an opportunity to celebrate their devotion to faith while also acknowledging the values of community, kindness, and empathy that unite us all," Onyeka stated.


The Chief Imam of Tincan Island Mosque, Imam Sadiq Mohammed, expressed deep appreciation for the initiative, describing it as a commendable step towards bridging religious divides at the Port. He also offered prayers for the continued success of the Command.


Similarly, Alhaji Akeem Ayobiojo, Chairman of the Africa Association of Professional Freight Forwarders and Logistics (APFFLON) Tincan Island Command Chapter, lauded the Customs boss for fostering an atmosphere of unity. "This event is a testament to the spirit of mutual respect and collaboration we aim to uphold at Tincan Island Port," he remarked.


The Ramadan dinner drew participation from key stakeholders, including representatives of the Armed Forces, Customs Licensed Agents, Terminal Operators, and Shipping Line Operators.


The initiative is seen as part of Comptroller Onyeka’s broader efforts to enhance cooperation and strengthen relationships among various groups operating within the port.
