A divorce lawyer has revealed the professions most likely to cheat on their partner and the signs you are being cheated on.
Kate Simonds, 39 – a divorce attorney with 15 years’ experience – has revealed the occupations of people she believes are most likely to be unfaithful.
She says police officers, firefighters, and people in the military are “more likely to cheat” because of their “ego” and the fact that they are around people 24/7.
Kate also revealed the job roles of those most likely to stay faithful to their partner.
She said accountants, farmers, and pharmacists are most likely to stay faithful to their partners due to their personality types and more isolated career choice.
Kate, from Phoenix, Arizona, US, said: “Infidelity is the worst thing that can happen to a marriage.
“In my opinion, people don’t get divorced because of the cheating, but all the problems around infidelity and the issues it brings.
“I have been working as a divorce attorney for 15 years, my opinion was formed by the people we see.
“We are in Phoenix, and we have a very large cross-section.
“The professions I am talking about come from the number of people in those professions we’ve seen.”
Kate believes the most likely profession to cheat on their partners are public service workers – including cops, firefighters, and people working in the military.
She believes this is because they are regularly away from home and “women are attracted to the uniform”.
“Cops and firefighters are the most likely to cheat, and that is pretty well settled,” Kate said.
“Everyone knows what is going on in the cop shop.
“They are in contact with other people a lot of the time, and they have a stereotypical personality type.
“You need a big ego to be able to do that job, and women are attracted to the uniform – it is the perfect storm.”
Kate suggests occupations where people are more likely to stay faithful to their spouse include people who work in farming, accountants, and pharmacists.
She said that accountants are generally more reserved, farmers are loyal due to how hard they work, and claims “nobody ever divorces a pharmacist”.
Kate said: “I think accountants are more reserved, stereotypical accountants are very black-and-white people – I think it is their personality.
“Farmers are definitely in the non-cheating column, it may be in part because of how much they work, it would be nice to assume that it comes from their personality type.
“They are very trustworthy and family-oriented.
“Nobody I know of has ever divorced a farmer, or a pharmacist for that matter.”
Kate claims tell-tale signs you are being cheated on include your partner reducing their communication, and them starting self-improving without involving you.
“My strong opinion is that cheating has more to do with the person who is cheating than the person who has been cheated on,” Kate said.
“The number one signal that you are being cheated on is a reduction in communication where the person seems self-isolated.
“Another sign is when someone starts self-improvement that does not involve their partner.
“I feel like the other person is unhappy with themselves in some way, they are looking to change but not wanting to change with their partner.
“Cheating stems from their unhappiness.”
Summarily, most likely professions to cheat in Kate’s opinion are Police officers, Firefighters, and People in the military.
Most likely professions to be faithful in Kate’s opinion are Farmers, Accountants, and Pharmacists.
The tell-tale signs you’re being cheated on according to Kate are: Focusing on self improvement without involving you, Reducing their communication, and Keeping secrets.
