The Edo State Ministry of Education is collaborating with the Nigerian Education Loan Fund, NELFUND, to ensure that students from the state benefit optimally from the various welfare programmes emanating from the ministry and the Fund.
Disclosing this in a statement, the Edo State Commissioner for Education, Dr Paddy Iyamu, said the step would not only transform the educational landscape in the state, but also significantly improve the welfare of the students.
“This is a milestone and a significant event. The Edo State Ministry of Education is collaborating with the Nigeria Education Loan Fund (NELFUND), and the collaboration promises to transform the educational landscape for students in Edo State.
“Through this exciting development, the partnership will ensure all Edo students can access university education without the immediate burden of tuition fees.
“This innovative programme aims to remove financial barriers, enabling students to focus on their studies and achieve their academic goals without the stress of upfront payment and even with the benefit of a N20,000 monthly stipend,” he said.
Dr. Iyamu therefore encouraged all students to seize the opportunity, stating, “No more hindrance to success. Make plans to attend.”
Dr Iyamu appreciated the leadership of President Bola Tinubu and the Governor of Edo State, Senator Monday Okpebholo for creating a road map where all students could thrive irrespective of their backgrounds.
“The Student Loan Scheme introduced by His Excellency President Bola Tinubu is a game changer and that is being complemented by the massive infrastructural development that is taking place in the education sector in Edo State under the leadership of Governor Monday Okpebholo. We are surely on the right path in Edo State”, he said.
