The popular Kara Market notable for sales of grains and other edibles has been engulfed in another fire outbreak in Sokoto State.
The fire, which started in the early hours of Saturday, this time around razed the entire market, reducing several grain stores and shops to ashes.
Though the cause of the fire incident was yet to be determined, members of the state fire service department tried but could not bring the fire under control.
At the time of this report, occupants of shops and houses close to the market were busy moving out their belongings for fear of the inferno reigniting.
Efforts to speak with the market’s management failed as they were busy trying to ensure that people did not take advantage of the situation to loot.
Recall that the grinding section of the market was razed recently where the state government promised to come to the aid of victims of the inferno.
