The Secretary to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Mrs. Rose Omoa Oriaran-Anthony, has paid a courtesy visit to the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Chapter, where she praised the Chapter’s leadership for its innovative and impactful initiatives.
During her visit to the new NIPR-FCT Secretariat in Abuja on Thursday, Mrs. Oriaran-Anthony—who is also a Fellow of the Institute—commended the Chapter’s executive, led by Mr. Stanley Ogadigo, for implementing programs that have empowered Public Relations professionals to add meaningful value to their organizations.
She highlighted the notable progress recorded under the current administration, noting that the Chapter has significantly raised its profile in the public relations landscape.
"We see your work, we hear about it, and we want you to know we are proud of what you have achieved. Through your thoughtful initiatives, you’ve elevated the standing of NIPR-FCT," she remarked.
Mrs. Oriaran-Anthony emphasized that the Chapter’s focus on capacity building is not only attracting attention but also reinforcing the Institute’s relevance in today’s evolving communication space.
She described this emphasis as critical for enhancing the reputation of institutions across sectors.
In his remarks, Mr. Stanley Ogadigo, Chairman of NIPR-FCT, welcomed the INEC Secretary and lauded her for consistently displaying excellence and professionalism in her public service role.
He noted that Mrs. Oriaran-Anthony’s achievements serve as a testament to the capacity of women to lead and deliver results in high-level positions.
“As an Institute, we observe the performance of our members, and your approach to duty stands out. We are proud to have someone of your caliber—competent, principled, and professional—in such a strategic position,” Ogadigo said.
He further applauded her humility and active engagement with the Chapter’s activities, encouraging other members to emulate her example by staying connected with their professional body and contributing to its growth.
Accompanying the INEC Secretary were Mrs. Victoria Eta Messi, Director of Voter Education and Publicity; Mrs. Ndidi Okafor, Director of Security; and Mr. Uche Eze, Deputy Director in the Office of the Secretary to the Commission.
Also present to receive the guests were Hajia Halima Musa, Director of News at NTA, and Mr. Uzoma Nwosu, Senior Admin Officer of the Chapter.
